Presentation

The Master's Program in Regional Development - PMDR conceives development in a multi and interdisciplinary way. In this sense, development is understood as the result of a set of institutional, cultural, economic, political, social and scientific-technological factors, explaining and favoring the process of socioeconomic organization in the different territorial areas.

The PMDR's objective is to contribute to the debate on the multiple faces of development, in its spatial dimension (local, regional, territorial).

As a main challenge, considering the multiscalarity of socioeconomic and cultural processes, it is proposed to understand the complex problem of inserting territorial dynamics into the global dynamics of development.

1. Area of ??Concentration: Regional Development

1.1. Research Line: Public Policies and Regional Development

The studies and research to be implemented in this line are articulated around the debate on regional development and public policies, with an emphasis on socioeconomic, political, historical-cultural and ethical issues, whose processes connect or impact public and private, urban spaces and rural, with the Contestado Territory as its reference context.

1.2. Line of Research: Environments and Socioeconomic and Organizational Dynamics in Territories

It is dedicated to the study and analysis of the territorial dynamics of development, focusing on territorial assets and resources, territorial heritage and approaches to the environment, territorial governance and regional planning, conceiving development theories as a parameter. It will also cover studies on regional economy, productive arrangements, intra and inter organizational relations, innovation, socio-territorial and business entrepreneurship, highlighting the socioeconomic impacts on the development of territories and regions.

Self-assessment

The self-evaluation policy arises from the permanent need to monitor Postgraduate Programs with the creation of metrics capable of providing conditions for the constant improvement in the Program.

Based on the need for this monitoring, UNC approved Resolution UNC CONSUN 046/2020 with the University Council, which provides for the Guidelines for Self-Assessment and Strategic Planning of Postgraduate Programs. s-Graduation UNC Stricto Sensu. In accordance with Article 2 of the aforementioned Resolution, UNC conceives the self-evaluation of Postgraduate Programs as an evaluation process conceptualized with the purpose of contrasting impressions of the different segments on the general quality of training in in relation to the Stricto Sensu Program proposal.

The Program's Self-Assessment Project aims to: Systematize and continuously improve the self-assessment process, contributing to improving the quality of teaching, research and extension of the Postgraduate Programs ;s Graduation.

Carrying out the self-assessment takes place alongside the exam. teaching and student community that is related to the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program at the Universidade do Contestado.

The data to be collected is characterized as primary and secondary data. The primary ones are obtained through different strategies, such as questionnaires and/or interviews. The secondary data comes from the institutional database, the Institutional CPA.

Data of a quantitative nature will be organized and presented in the form of tables and graphs based on probabilistic analyzes of the frequency distribution of variables (using ordinal scale and Likert). Qualitative data will be systematized into different analysis categories such as summary tables and content analysis and word cloud. They are described and evaluated with the aim of obtaining a more significant representation of the target audience, allowing understanding and inference of the reality investigated.

The program's self-evaluation is based on the following dimensions: teachers; students; technical-administrative body and external community. Teachers are the professors who make up the Program's board; The students are regular students of the Program and the external community are entities or representatives in the region covered by the Program.

Assessments are carried out every six months. The questionnaires, for teachers and students, are available in the academic system (e-mestre) and for the external community they will be available. linked via google forms link.

The data obtained is presented to the board in order to maintain the anonymity of teachers and students with the socialization of the general average of the responses. The results are also sent individually to teachers and the results are presented to the External Community in a remote or in-person event. The program coordinator has access to complete information, seeking to improve the deficient variables identified by the CPA and strengthen the variables that are successful in the CPA.

The data obtained is used in the Program's Strategic Planning, in accordance with Resolution UNC CONSUN 046/2020, and will serve as a basis for developing strategic planning.
