Self-assessment
The self-evaluation policy arises from the permanent need to monitor Postgraduate Programs with the creation of metrics capable of providing conditions for constant improvement in the Program.
Based on the need for this monitoring, UNC approved, together with the University Council, Resolution UNC CONSUN 046/2020, which provides for the Guidelines for Self-Assessment and Strategic Planning of UNC Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs. In accordance with Article 2 of the aforementioned Resolution, the UNC conceives the self-evaluation of Postgraduate Programs as an evaluation process conceptualized with the purpose of contrasting the impressions of different segments on the general quality of training in relation to the proposal of the Stricto Program Sense.
The Program's Self-Evaluation Project aims to: Systematize and continuously improve the self-evaluation process, contributing to improving the quality of teaching, research and extension of Postgraduate Programs.
The self-assessment takes place with the teaching and student community that is related to the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program at the Universidade do Contestado.
The data to be collected is characterized as primary and secondary data. Primaries are obtained through different strategies, such as questionnaires and/or interviews. Secondary data comes from the institutional database, CPA Institucional.
Quantitative data will be organized and presented in the form of tables and graphs based on probabilistic analyzes of the frequency distribution of variables (using ordinal scales and Likert scales). Qualitative data will be systematized into different analysis categories such as summary tables and content analysis and word cloud. They are described and evaluated with the aim of obtaining a more significant representation of the target audience, allowing understanding and inference of the reality investigated.
The program's self-evaluation is based on the following dimensions: teachers; students; technical-administrative body and external community. Teachers are the professors who make up the Program?s board; The students are regular students of the Program and the external community are entities or representatives in the region covered by the Program.
Assessments are carried out every six months. The questionnaires, for teachers and students, are available in the academic system (e-mestre) and for the external community they will be linked via a Google Forms link.
The data obtained is presented to the board in order to maintain the anonymity of teachers and students with the socialization of the general average of the responses. The results are also sent individually to teachers and the results are presented to the External Community in a remote or in-person event. The program coordinator has access to complete information, seeking to improve the deficient variables identified by the CPA and strengthen the variables that were successful in the CPA.
The data obtained is used in the Program's Strategic Planning, in accordance with UNC CONSUN Resolution 046/2020, and will serve as a basis for developing strategic planning.
